Lilian Tsourdi is a researcher at the Université catholique de Louvain (UCL) and a visiting researcher at the Law Faculty of the European University Institute (EUI). She is finalizing her doctoral thesis at the Law Faculty of the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB). She has been awarded a Max Weber post-doctoral fellowship at the Law Faculty of the EUI for the academic year 2016-2017.

A Doctoral Affiliate of the Refugee Law Initiative (RLI) at the School of Advanced Study (University of London), she is co-convenor and co-moderator of a module on European Asylum Law at RLI’s Master in Refugee Protection. She has guest lectured in the framework of LLM-level modules in Queen Mary, University of London and the ULB.

Her research focuses on the administrative governance of the EU asylum policy. She regularly consults for the EU institutions, international and non-governmental organizations. Lilian has authored a number of articles and book contributions in the field of asylum law.
